Zimmermann’s Cruise ‘26 collection, Twisted Romance, unfolds like a cinematic daydream, part adventure, part modern femininity, and entirely anchored in the fantasy of escape. It’s a story that drifts between eras: pirate folklore, old-world illustrations, and the expressive spirit of the New Romantics all come together through a soft, contemporary lens.

Creative Director Nicky Zimmermann describes the season as a playful dive into imaginative worlds. “Cruise ‘26 is inspired by nostalgic pirate adventures and the flamboyance of the New Romantics… There’s volume, romance, and drama, but it’s never too serious. That tension is what makes it feel modern — celebrating fun, freedom, and a little rebellious adventure.”

The collection thrives on contrast. Floaty silks meet structured denim. Delicate lace stands beside sharp tailoring. Volume rises and falls throughout, never heavy, never costume, always grounded in movement.

Voluminous sleeves, bold ruffles, and billowing shapes elevate the theatrical spirit, while corset-inspired details add definition. Nautical stripes, raw-cut frills, military brocade, and maritime prints reinforce the theme without ever feeling literal. Shell-like edges shape collars and cuffs; airy skirts trail with the softness of seaweed drifting underwater. Roses appear on waistbands and collars, subtly nodding to sailor dressing, transformed into something modern and romantic. In the end, Twisted Romance feels like more than a collection; it’s a world. A place where adventure and elegance coexist, where romance meets rebellion, and where imagination guides the way. Zimmermann invites us to step into that world, to dress with spirit, and to move through it all with ease, confidence, and a touch of fantasy.
