STELLA MCCARTNEY SPRING/SUMMER 2026 COLLECTION INSERT
Stella McCartney introduced FEVVERS to her loyal consumer base, a material that redefines what today’s luxury can look like. Light, layered, and alive with movement. This new invention offers the romance of feathers without harming animals. Not a substitute, but a new expression entirely cruelty-free, created for a future where quality, style, and responsibility are noted.
Making its runway debut for Summer 2026, Stella McCartney brings fluidity and a sense of care to the scene while remaining fully conscious in her construction. The results were articulated with clarity.
To bring the material to life, the house partnered with Chanakya International, the Mumbai-based embroidery and textile atelier renowned for its generational mastery of craft. Working alongside 13th-generation artisans, the collaboration bridges cutting-edge material research with time-honored handwork. Developed by UK-based start-up FEVVERS marks its proof-of-concept debut with Stella McCartney. Free from animal-derived materials and intensive chemical processing, this signals a shift away from longstanding traditions toward a lighter, more thoughtful approach to luxury. With this first-of-its-kind innovation, Stella continues to challenge the industry’s assumptions, showing that fashion can remain expressive, romantic, and elevated while moving responsibly toward a cruelty-free approach, offering a new product built on a clear outlook.
For decades, feathers have been embedded in the fashion industry, often masking the environmental and awareness behind their beauty. Billions of birds are killed each year for decorative use, with these practices being unsustainable. FEVVERS emerges as a deliberate refusal of that system, proving that appeal and cool do not require exploitation.
With FEVVERS, the message is direct: luxury can still be emotional while being ethical. Now that we see proof, thanks to Stella McCartney, it can also be worn.
